As I understand from Jim Sr., Jim Jr. has a new job with Tempco. I don't know all the details, but the way it was explained to me, it sounds like a nice customer service position. It's always exciting (and a little scary) to begin a new venture so let's all join together and wish Jim Jr. outstanding success.
It's been quite a while since we posted here. What with Thanksgiving, getting the tree up and getting ready for Christmas, we've been super busy. I can't believe how many Christmas decorations we've put up, and we still have decorating to do. It's just a great big house. It's been such a long time since we have had the whole family together and we're really looking forward to Christmas Eve. The Olive Garden is doing the catering again this year (yes, we're having chicken marsala again - :>) .
Our Christmas present to each other arrived yesterday and is getting installed today. It's a new TV with it's own zip code - it has a 67 inch screen. Can you believe electronics today! I still remember black and white TV on an 18 inch screen! This piece of equipment can be connected directly to a pc, camcorder, and miscellaneous other audio visual equipment. I'll be all of 2007 just figuring out how to work all the features.
A little update on the office furniture crazy making venture - After Office Depot had the extra boxes of furniture picked up by Federal Express - would you believe we received a bill from Federal Express in the amount of $411! It took two visits to Office Depot to get that cleared up. Back in late October I wrote a long letter to senior management at Office Depot headquarters. A few days ago we received a telephone call from them and we've been given $250 credit on our bill. That helps, but I still won't buy anything there that I can't take away with me and use immediately.
A little update on Kathy - It's taking some time to get the denture frames built and fitted perfectly, so the work will not be completed until January. We had hoped to have it all done by the end of the year. I'm sure Kathy would like to be finished with it. Things have a way of going how they should. Kathy will be moving in with Mandy and Jesse at the end of December. At least she will be all settled before the remaining extractions are done and will be closer to Stockton for followup visits.
Jim Sr. has a birthday coming up on January 21 and for that we'll be doing a potluck. I'll furnish an entree and cake and we'll ask the family to provide side dishes. Since the 21st is on Sunday, we'll have the party late afternoon/early evening so people with school and jobs the next day won't be up too late.
I may or may not post here again before Christmas - it's only 12 days away! Yikes!
Love to all,
Corrie and Jim
